Obligatory post about lineups
After half an hour or so of noodling around with things, I came up with my proposed lineup for the team given current personel. I'm tired and exceedingly lazy so you're not getting a lot of in-depth analysis or, for that matter, a consideration of a center field platoon. Special thanks to Rally for his projections.
This is based on who I think will be playing. If for some reason Aaron Miles ends up our starting second baseman, I'll be too busy drinking acetone to update this. So, without further adieu.
- Fukudome
- Lee
- Ramirez
- Soriano
- Bradley
- Soto
- Fontenot
- Theriot
- Pitcher
This is not necessarily the "best" lineup that can be constructed according to the model I used - for one I didn't bother to run every possible lineup to check on that. I also exercised some of my own thinking - I wanted to spread the lefties out as much as possible.
Soto and Fontenot were both guys I wanted to fit higher up in the lineup but simply couldn't. (Or rather didn't want to deal with the fussing - you'd probably get better results swapping Soto and Ramirez, but I really don't want to deal with the rampant beating I'd take for posting THAT lineup.)
Oh, and good lord, please nobody ever mention again the idea that Ryan Theriot leads off. The numbers look like an utter horror show.
And by the way, according to the model, that lineup scores... about 5.9 Runs Per Game? I can live with that.
