Goatriders of the Apocalypse

Today in Baseball History - January 4th

1942 - Rogers Hornsby is elected to the HOF with only 78% of the vote.  And so the next time you complain that Rickey Henderson was only elected to the Hall with 99.7% of the vote (presumably this will be a future complaint), just remember that the greatest second baseman in history was not chosen by 22% of voters.

1976 - Baseball celebrates America's 299 1/2th birthday with a large cake and a special Washington #1 jersey.  The giant "We're #1" foam finger was reserved for America's 300th birthday.

1993 - Maddux repeats to himself, for the 17th time, "wait, seriously?  Himes isn't going to re-sign me?  You told him I'm Greg Maddux, right?".

2002 - Matt Morris is signed by the Cardinals to a 3 year, 27 million dollar contract.  I do not like Matt Morris.

2004 - Wade Boggs and Ryne Sandberg are elected to the HOF.  WOO HOO, GO RYNO!

Matt Morris......Some say

Matt Morris......Some say that he is confused by stairs, and that he is terrified by Britney Spears.
