If it's noon, it must be Jake Peavy rumor time
The latest Peavy rumor, from Bruce Levine:
The deal is not done, but the scenario being mentioned has the Cubs sending Mark DeRosa to Philadelphia for pitcher J.A. Happ and a second pitcher. Then the Cubs would send Happ, Kevin Hart, Jason Marquis and Josh Vitters to San Diego in exchange for Peavy. The Cubs would eat a good portion of the Marquis contract, probably in the range of $3-4 million.
He also mentions the Cubs doing ANOTHER trade for an outfielder. I say whathuhwhat?!?!?!

I think he goes to the Pads too...
...but who knows right now.
I hope trading for an
outfielder doesn't signal the Cubs go cheap for the middle of the order LHB, unless they plan to use payroll to acquire a player like Furcal or another legit leadoff man.
