UPDATE: Nine votes short. I'm officially done with the Hall of Fame. Srsly. Done with the Hall of Fame. I'm not debating or discussing this point. Feel free to vent in the comments.

Rob: The Sun-times corraborates.  The only guy that gets in is Joe Gordon, a New York guy.  Once again, the East Coast Hall Of Fame sinks to its accustomed level.

The Hall of Fame is not what you think it is.  Whatever the initial goals were for the institution, it has become the warehouse for the memories of East Coast Baseball.  I'm afraid at this point, Ron Santo does not fit into that mold. 

I'm now afraid that when the man does die, he will be bitter and unaccepting.  I hope to God that he is able to make his peace, and realize, like George Bailey, that he led a fulfilling life without the gatdam East Coast H.O.F.
