Goatriders of the Apocalypse

Random Notes from the Bad Punicle

Because we are always hungry at GROTA to deliver you content, I thought I'd post a few statistics that may interest those among our readers whose preferred Friday evening includes watching Star Trek while taping up your glasses.  Sadly, that includes me.

Ted Lilly is now on pace to win more than 15 games.  He's also on pace to strike out more tha 200 batters, and to walk only 70.  Sounds like he's back on track.

Carlos Marmol is on pace to pitch in 81 games, to throw 105 innings, to strike out 142, and to walk only 24.

Carlos "The Big Moose" Zambrano is on pace to win 24 games.

Derrek Lee is on pace to hit 41 homers, 41 doubles, and to drive in 110 RBI.

Geovany Soto is on pace to hit 56 doubles, 30 homeruns, and to drive in 126 RBI while also on pace for 103 walks and 146 strikeouts.

Ryan "Quiet" Theriot is on pace to walk 84 times, to hit 29 doubles, and to steal 34 bases - while getting caught 24 times.

Point of fact, the Cubs have 4 starters who are currently on pace to draw close to 100 walks this season.

Finally, Jim Edmonds is on pace to suck.  Just thought I'd throw that one out there.

All of this leads me to want to re-evaluate the Cubs lineup yet again, although I'm sure I'll draw a similar conclusion to the number of times we've looked at the lineup in the past.  This will be done later today.

Not to start a holy war...

...but you need to watch less Star Trek and more Babylon 5.

(I, on the other hand, need to catch up on my Battlestar Galactica.)

I actually laughed

Really. I did laugh. Work sucks today. I need the comic relief.
