Slumps are never pleasant, especially if you are a known Cubs fan and work in hostile territory. The Cubs have been playing like they're managed by Dusty Baker as of late, as they have stopped getting the breaks and are no longer scoring the big runs in late innings. Clearly, that has to change. And with the invinicible Carlos Zambrano going against Aaron "Hard-Luck" Harang, he of the 1-4 record and the 2.98 ERA, maybe this is the day.
Just remember that no team is slump proof. Any Yankees team of this decade is evidence of that. But if you want a concrete example, just take a look at the '07 Champions. The Red Sox may have conquered baseball last year, but it wasn't always pretty. From May 30th to June 6th, they went 1-6. They had another 2-6 run at the end of June. They went 3-8 around the All Star Break, and they went 1-6 near the end of September and almost squandered their lead on the Yankees. In other words, there were at least four one-week periods in which the '07 Red Sox looked like the '07 Royals. So, relax. If baseball has taught us anything, it should be that it's rarely the right time to panic.
And if you're feeling a little low ... although he's not pitching today, I thought I'd cheer you up with a photoshop of Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo. Enjoy:

I've been saying this in as many Cubs-related places as possible lately. Very well put.
