Kerry Wood sucks?
Oh, and Kerry Wood looked absolutely brilliant - right until he failed to seal the deal. What's up with that?
I'm all about not being Jump to Conclusions Guy, but Wood's inconsistency has me worried. While he's certainly no LaTroy Hawkins, he's also proving to be no John Smoltz. However, Carlos Marmol - who saved the game in the 10th - is without a doubt more valuable in a middle relief-setup role, and I think that Wood needs to have a few more weeks before he gets abandoned.
Well, I suppose that somewhere in those sentences are the letters "s," "u," "c,"and "k." If only people would stop taking things out of context! I think Wood sucks, I think religion is absurd, when will it end? But hey, I appreciate being told to "relax a little." I've got to learn to stop reading things wrongly, because when that happens I may react in a way where I come off as being both condescending and - ironically - wrong. Or I should at least read everything in detail rather than just headlines.
Anyway. The Cubs play in just a few short hours. Hopefully Matt Holiday will fail to get on the ball in only the way he - and Mark McGwire - can.

Kerry Wood Sucks NO
Kerry Wood has been a closer for a whole month now.
Even the best closers blow a game now and then.
You are missing the really frustrating part of last nights game. That piece of crap Michael Wuerts. He's the pitcher that totally sucks on this team. Kerry Wood should not have even come close to the situation he was put in last night. WUERTS IS HORRIBLE. He couldn't strike out my Mom. Didn't the Tigers want him during the off season? Jim Hendry should trade him to Detroit immediately. Maybe we can get a ham sandwich in return for that piece of shit!!!!!!
The reality of life is...
Marmol is the Long Term Closer of the Future.
Wood is the Closer of Now. Marmol, like most famous closers of the day, needs to be Eaaaaaassssed into it, gently.
Wood is fine for a half season, or even most of the season. If there be World Series 2008 Action, though, it may be Marmol who shuts doors.
The best part is...
...that in the preceding paragraph he hints at the idea of moving Hill out of the rotation after one more start.
I can't even respond to that rationally.
Wow, even more ironic than
Wow, even more ironic than before. Go figure.
