Goatriders of the Apocalypse

On the ledge? Here are some crevices to hold onto:

The NL Division Leader with the biggest lead?  Ahh, that one's easy.

Big Z with normal rest Vs. the Dunn-less Reds?  That's good news, ain't it?

The Brewers have to face a bonafide Hall-of-Famer tonight, a man's man, a guy's guy.  In fact, they have to try to win out against the best pitching staff in the league. Not bad news, either.

Even though we got swept by the Marlins, and there was zero situational hitting done on our part, our big guns are not entirely cold - Ramirez, Soriano, and Lee all contributed.  DeRosa is still hitting well, and I'm thinking Kendall will have a big series after what has amounted to a very long rest.

Since 10:30 last night, when the Brewers game went final and the Magic Number went down to 2, I have been wondering which side of the fence to jump down on.  Are we in, for sure?  Or are we going to choke this one up?  Probabilities, statistics, mathematics all point to the Cubs winning this thing.  History, curses, and the mystifying, cancerous presence of Steve (Rain Delay) Trachsel all suggest that they cannot possibly win.

You are here to find out what we think, and I still don't know.  This weekend, more than any other weekend in our entire lives watching Cubs baseball...

...they got to play the games before we can tell you what's gonna happen.

Have fun, and good luck!

stupid fishies

We've been on a roll lately until running into those pointy-nosed fish. As much as I prefer to clinch a spot on the final out of a ballgame, I'm willing to leave this one to Maddux, less than an hour after the Cubs win tonight.

We trade Maddux for the too-friendly Izturis, he signs this year with the Padres. Right where we need him, pitching in a big game, against the Brewers, to close out the season.

I don't know if its going to happen, but I think I like it that way as good as any. And the sooner its done, the better. I'm too young to start taking Blood Pressure meds.

the way i look at it, we get

the way i look at it, we get our "ace" on the hill tonight, and a former ace pitching against the Brewers.

If you think about it, its almost fate...

Well...

The worst we can get is a one-game playoff at Wrigley. I like our chances!
