Pie and Hill out of doghouse, for now

Bruce Miles reports than Felix Pie will start the rest of the series against the Reds, against three righties. Oh, and Rich Hill will start on Friday. God's in his heaven, all's right with the world.

In fact, the Cubs are looking to have Pie move up in the order, if he could just, well, hit the ball some of the time.

"We're going to let him start here," Piniella said. "I told Felix we're going to play him when we have right-hand pitching out there, and the Reds are pitching three right-handers, so you're going to see Felix out there in center field.

"I hope he swings the bat. I'd like to see Felix swing the bat because he can help us defensively and with his speed. And he's got some energy, which I really like."

If Pie does start hitting, Piniella said he'd like to move Pie up to second from eighth in the order and move shortstop Ryan Theriot down to eighth.

Could they move Theriot somewhere other than eighth? Like, say, Class A Peoria? Other than that, pass the Kool-Aid.

Sheesh

Could we hold off on the Theriot bashing until he at least gets his OBP back down below .350. I mean, yes, he's the worst hitter on the team, but he's

a) not *that* bad

and

b) someone has to be the worst and he's practically free

Who would play short?

I seriously doubt they could wrestle an "elite" shortstop from another team on such short notice. Donuts is STILL trying to acquire the team's 4th second baseman.

Would you rather have Ronny Cedeno at short? If given the choice of playing without a shortstop and putting Cedeno in, I'd choose the former every time.
