Today was the deadline to add players to the 40-man roster before the Rule V draft during the winter meetings. Atkins is probably the top guy on that list.
Notable players not protected and eligible to be drafted include Nate Spears and Donald Veal. It's depressing to see Veal exposed to the Rule V process; I expect him to get drafted by some team or another.
